Meet Dr. Callahan

Dr. CallahanWilliam M. Callahan, DDS, an Atlanta, Ga. native, has practiced General Dentistry since 1980. He practiced with his father, William L. Callahan, Jr., for 25 years until the latter's retirement. In January 2007, he began practicing with Dr. Garland Johnson in his Westminster office, while continuing to practice in Atlanta two days a week . In October of 2007, Dr. Callahan decided to make Westminster his full-time practice home. “Dr. Bill”, as he is known by his patients and staff, is glad to call Westminster, SC his home now!

Dr. Callahan earned his BS in Mathematics from Emory University College then his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Emory University School of Dentistry.   He was a member of the Crown and Bridge Faculty at Emory Dental School, teaching clinical dentistry to junior and senior dental students until the school closed in 1988. Dr. Callahan is active in all phases of organized dentistry, as a member of the American Dental Association and the Hinman Dental Society of Atlanta, serving as its President in 2000 and General Chairman in 2003. He still serves on the Board of Trustees of the Hinman Dental Society. With his move to Westminster, he joined the South Carolina Dental Association as well.

They have three grown children, BJ, with his wife, Amanda, Joey and Kathleen, who is planning an April 2010 wedding to Allan Cecil. Dr. Callahan and Lynn moved to their home on Lake Hartwell permanently in December 2005, having lived there part time since 1984. Dr. Bill enjoys fishing and working in the woods.
